My first relationship with a woman was life changing. I was able to acknowledge a part of me that I had hidden from everybody. Coming out felt like a dream, I had the support of my friends and family. Mr. and Mrs. Potatoe Head are the perfect example of two partners in love. Growing up in a Christian and extremely homophobic environment I questioned myself often, not feeling good enough for the church and some of my family. I feared not receiving acceptance and losing love from people I cared about. Coming out taught me the importance of accepting myself over anything. My chosen family and friends accepted myself and partner at the time with open arms. It was beautiful.
